"The readiness of the new berth 1-z of the Odessa port is 93 percent" - Ruslan Sakhautdinov, head of the port administration
In the last days of November, the Mastbud company asphalted the reinforced concrete foundation of the berth 1-z under construction on the Androsovskiy pier of the Odessa port. This event witnessed the entry of the contractor to the home stretch of construction.
According to the information of the engineering service of the Odessa branch of the Administration of the seaports of Ukraine, the installation of floor slabs and the installation of a cap beam in the rear of the berth has been completely completed at the facility, a complex of works on laying water supply and sewerage engineering networks, the installation of a sewage pumping station (SPS) and rain collecting trays; in the coming days, the laying of rails for the movement of the shiploader will begin.
“The berth readiness at the end of November was 93 percent,” commented Ruslan Sakhautdinov, head of the port administration. - By the time I took office as the head of the Odessa branch of the State Enterprise "Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine", berth 1-z was, in fact, abandoned, and for about 10 years it was listed as an object of unfinished construction. For the revival and further implementation of this project, it was necessary to find a number of complex extraordinary solutions. Thanks to a highly professional team of port specialists and our business partners, such solutions were found and applied in practice. Today we are faced with an ambitious task - to implement the project for the construction of berth 1-z by the end of this year. I think we can do it. Completion works are currently underway at an intensive pace. About eight contractors work at the facility at the same time, punctures are made for networks, all types of networks are laid, a sewage pumping station and a sand trap are equipped, an asphalt pavement is being laid, fenders are being prepared, etc. Before the new year, we plan to complete the installation of utilities and begin the procedure for obtaining permits for the operation of a new hydraulic structure. Thus, the port administration will fulfill all obligations under the project to its partners - private companies, which have built a modern grain transshipment complex on Androsovskiy pier.
Recall that the construction of berth 1-z is part of a large investment project that the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration is implementing jointly with Brooklyn-Kiev and Louis Dreyfus companies with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the amount of investment is more than $ 100 million, capacity - 4 million tons per year). The finished berth will be 254 meters long, 35 meters wide and 12 meters deep at the cordon with a perspective of up to 13.5 meters. These parameters are sufficient to receive Panamax vessels with a deadweight of 60 thousand tons and above.
